Same Questions, regardless of government level

March 25, 2020
Everything is changing by the day / hour / minute on both sides of this equation. After round 1, some questions have changed. Surreal ValeCity has a very strict policy to state only facts. Format is e-mail only and straight, unedited, copy / paste. Honestly, with every office / area overwhelmed, I do not expect any responses.

Questions

  1. What areas are considered “accepted casualties” of Covid-19? Examples: deaths directly related to virus. Possible increase in suicide. Possible increase in domestic violence. Depression / heart attack from stress. Possible increase in child abuse. Can areas like these even be quantified in reference to the virus?
  2. Will the media, including corporate, be held accountable for misleading information, false statements, possible spreading panic / paranoia as examples?
  3. What can the media do to help, beyond our responsibility of stating / reporting facts?
  4. When the virus is under control, numbers lower: What safeguards are in place for various levels of government to cease the level of control they are using? Examples: Limiting the number of number of people at gatherings. Social Distancing. Closing / limiting types of businesses open.
  5. What are some of the benefits / upsides to everything related with the virus? Example: People / businesses learning new ways of doing things.
  6. Does the Federal Government need to take some control away from state / local governments at this point? In other words, do certain areas need to be more centralized?
