“Today, we join the entire nation in celebrating Juneteenth, commemorating the day in 1865 that all African Americans were ‘free at last’ through the official abolition of slavery. African Americans have contributed to an evolving and growing America immeasurably since then; especially once we achieved full equality 50 years ago. Juneteenth is more poignant than ever today thanks to the leadership of President Trump, who has honored and dignified this legacy of contributions. His policies have provided for record-low unemployment, criminal justice reform, heightened quality of life, opportunity zones, and the elimination of small business regulations, enabling freedom and prosperity for our communities across the country like never before.
