​The Print Center Announces New Board Members
Genny Boccardo-Dubey, Josephine Burri, Alida Fish
and Laurel Garber

PHILADELPHIA, PA - (September 3, 2020) The Print Center is very pleased to announce four recent appointees to their Board of Governors: Genny Boccardo-Dubey, Josephine Burri, Alida Fish and Laurel Garber

Genny Boccardo-Dubey has recently been appointed to the role of Chief Advancement Officer at Mural Arts Philadelphia. Genny is passionate about bringing art and culture into the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds. New to Philadelphia, she is a nonprofit leader with a focus on fundraising, board relations, business development and relationship building. Boccardo-Dubey has worked in both the private and public sectors, most recently as Deputy Director at Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach, CA.

She has also held fundraising positions at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA and Tate, London, UK. In 2017, she attended the prestigious Getty Leadership Institute.
 
Boccardo-Dubey holds a BA in International Relations from the University of San Diego, CA; an MBA in International Business and Marketing from the University of San Francisco, CA; and an MA in Art History and Museum Studies from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, a program closely associated with the Cleveland Museum of Art. In addition, she founded La Cachette, a contemporary art gallery in Cleveland, representing regional and international contemporary artists working in diverse media. Boccardo-Dubey joined the Board of Governors in April 2020.

Josephine Burri, CFRE, is the Director of Development at the Shipley School, Bryn Mawr, PA. Burri is a strategic, entrepreneurial professional with 19 years of fundraising and nonprofit management experience. Before joining the staff at Shipley, she served as Vice President for Advancement at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia; Director of Development for The Wistar Institute, Philadelphia; and Director of Development for Opera Philadelphia.

She is a member and past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Greater Philadelphia Chapter, serves as an Overseer for CraftNOW Philadelphia, and is Vice President of the Maurice Rohrbach Fund for Swiss-American Cultural Exchange.

Burri received a BM in Flute Performance, summa cum laude, Temple University, Philadelphia and an MS in Arts Administration, Drexel University, Philadelphia. Burri joined the Board of Governors in March 2019.

Alida Fish is a distinguished artist and academic. She is Professor Emerita, College of Art and Design, The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, where she also served as Interim Dean of the College of Art and Chair of the Media Arts Department. She is a member and past President of the Board of Trustees of Penland School of Craft, Bakersville, NC and served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Photographic Education.

Fish’s photographs have been exhibited throughout the U.S. in galleries and museums such as the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY; The Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme, CT; Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA; and the Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington.

Fish has received numerous recognitions for her photographs, including a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Masters Award from the Delaware State Arts Council. She has been a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome and an instructor at Anderson Ranch and the Visual Studies Workshop.

Fish holds a BA from Smith College, Northampton, MA and an MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, NY. Fish was welcomed back to The Print Center’s Board of Governors in March 2020, following her first term in 1999-2001.

Laurel Garber joins the Board of Governors as the ex-officio member from the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Garber was appointed the Park Family Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Museum in September 2019. She relocated from Chicago, where she was a graduate fellow in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Prior to her graduate studies, she held curatorial fellowships at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, CA; Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA; and The Courtauld Gallery, London, UK. At these institutions, she contributed to a number of exhibition projects, including Noir: The Romance of Black in Nineteenth-century French Drawings and Prints (Getty), The Impressionist Line from Degas to Toulouse-Lautrec (Clark), and Rubens, Rembrandt, and Drawing in the Golden Age (AIC). 

Garber received a BA from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY and an MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, UK. She is a PhD Candidate at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, completing her dissertation, Making the Modern Printmaker in France, 1860-1890. Laurel Garber joined the Board of Governors in December 2019.
