Luetkemeyer: Secretary Yellen's Open and Continued Dereliction of Duty
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) issued the following statement after sending a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on her continued and open violation of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021:
“President Biden’s Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, is in a continued and open violation of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. “Per federal law, Secretary Yellen is required to testify before the House Small Business Committee regarding the role and impact of the Paycheck Protection Program.
“Secretary Yellen is now 310 days past the April 26, 2021 deadline.
“We urge the Secretary to contact the Committee to schedule her testimony to halt this outrageous and irresponsible dereliction of duty. Small businesses are struggling to keep their doors open, but it is obvious this administration is putting our small businesses on the back-burner.”
