Renacci Responds To Media Criticism of His Education Overhaul Plan
"There WILL be an Education Director as soon as I am governor, because I will appoint one."
Jim Renacci issued the following statement in response to media criticisms of his education overhaul plan:
"It looks like the liberal media isn't too fond of my education overhaul plan, which is a good sign. What they don't understand is that there WILL be an Education Director as soon as I am governor, because I will appoint one. If DeWine can create a vaguely-defined 'Innovation Office' whose sole purpose was to reward the unqualified John Husted with a glossy title and pay-to-play political appointment, I can certainly create a serious position designed to serve Ohio's parents and students. Managing our schools is one of the top responsibilities of the executive branch, and I will appoint a qualified and conservative director to ensure it is done properly and remains woke-free. Mike DeWine has allowed the Left to run the show in Ohio's schools while he sleeps at the wheel. I am going to fight to take back our schools from the woke Leftists who are increasingly controlling them."
