WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, House Small Business Committee Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and Chairwoman Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) led 44 members of Congress in introducing H. Res. 1076, a resolution recognizing May 2nd through 5th as National Small Business Week. Since 1963, the nation has celebrated National Small Business Week annually to recognize the enormous contributions of small business owners and their employees.

“This year’s National Small Business Week is a perfect time to recognize the hard-working small businesses and entrepreneurs in your community. Our small businesses are our primary job creators. As we leave the pandemic behind and enter a new era of recovery, our small businesses should be given the recognition they deserve for providing jobs, innovation, and opportunities for our communities and economy as a whole,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer.

“This National Small Business Week, we celebrate the tremendous progress that small firms have made from the darkest days of the pandemic. COVID created a once-in-a-lifetime crisis, but today small businesses across the country are back to innovating, creating jobs, and moving their communities forward,” said Chairwoman Velázquez. “Small businesses are leading the way in our recovery from this pandemic, and I’m proud to join my colleagues in recognizing everything that they do for our nation.”
