Dillworth Park was the first place I fell in love with. Fountains, a lot of seating, City Hall with the courtyard all combine to make this a great place to take a break and relax. Add in Love Park across the street and your lunch hour might get a slight extension. If you are a tourist, your plans might be slightly delayed.
The first visit to Love Park was June 14, 2019. Also, the first time since construction was finished. Honestly, was not expecting much. Figured it was way over-hyped. Dead wrong on both counts and more. Very surprised from the moment I entered. Love Park is the PERFECT place to stop and take a break. Reason? fountains, games (ping-pong anyone?), a lot of seating to start... Love Park made this list after only 1 visit. Definitely will be stopping every time ValeCity is in Philadelphia.
Winter and Summer, Blue Cross RiverRink is your stop for family fun! Located on Penn's Landing / Delaware River, the RiverRink offers food, ice / roller skating, a beautiful view of the river and New Jersey, plus a few surprises. Have not had a chance to visit during summer. Winter, the RiverRink is lit up for the season! Leading into a time suggestion: If you have the chance, stop by after night fall. The place is great during the day. Night, with the lights, adds that extra something that will make it very memorable.

Local Art Galleries
Art Explosion! is the best and only way to describe Carre D'artistes. Overall, not that large, the almost art / visual overload is why this gallery is a must stop on every visit. Carre D'artistes has a combination of local and global artists, excellent staff and events like live painting / meet the artist. Not even 2 blocks from City Hall on S. 13th, stop by and maybe buy that great addition for your place!
The Print Center, on Latimer St., is off the main path and streets. The Print Center is like going back in time. In our digital / online / virtual world, sometimes it is hard to believe print media still has niche. Walking in, you will find it does and much more. The front section and second floor have art exhibits. Each exhibit is a different media / genre. Walking into the back, you see print media of different forms (books, magazines, etc.). The Print Center also has artist talks and special exhibitions. You may need Google Maps to find the actual location, it is worth the stop!
Businesses
Walking up Market St. from 2nd, there is a unique wine bar on the right. You might want to pay attention, could walk right by. Pinot Boutique may look like other shops from the outside. Walk in, this wine bar has a true colonial style combined with modern feel. Offering single glasses, flights, tastings, classes and more, take a break from the city. Or, when the weather cooperates, sit outside and watch city life!
A combination art gallery / smoke shop makes Ruckus a fairly unique place to stop. When you walk in, it is mainly the 'shop' part. As you move through, the art gallery is clearly present. The glass art is mostly smoke related products. Honestly, you will not notice that part. The detail and colors are amazing in each piece. What really places Ruckus over the top? Friendly / professional / knowledgeable staff!
