Nevada DHHS Office of Analytics launches data dashboard focused on skilled nursing, assisted living facilities
Carson City, NV — In an effort to provide the public with additional information on COVID-19 cases in Nevada, a new data dashboard created by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Analytics has been launched on the Nevada Health Response website.
The facilities dashboard is a companion to the main data dashboard on the website which includes COVID-19 laboratory data.
When the first COVID-19 cases appeared in the United States, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities were among the hardest hit. In order to identify, control and contain the spread of COVID-19 among our most vulnerable residents living within skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Nevada, the Division of Public and Behavioral Health’s, Office of Public Health Investigations and Epidemiology, Environmental Health Program, and the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance have taken many proactive steps to help prepare and protect these facilities including issuing guidance, surveying facilities and implementing immediate response plans when suspected COVID-19 cases were identified or confirmed.
“Our staff is made of up skilled professionals who are working around the clock to provide guidance and care to people working and living in these facilities,” said Richard Whitley, Director of the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. “This dashboard, developed by Andrea Rivers and Madison Lopey in the Office of Analytics, is one more tool to inform health experts, policy makers, and the public of the COVID-19 situation in Nevada. This information will strengthen our ability to identify cases and work with partners to address those as quickly as possible.”
