Neffs Bancorp, Inc., parent company of The Neffs National Bank, 2021 Annual Meeting of Shareholders
Neffs Bancorp, Inc., parent company of The Neffs National Bank, held its 2021 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 12, 2021 at Northern Valley EMS Social Hall. Duane A. Schleicher of Lehighton and Greg J. Rentschler of Slatington were each elected for a 3 year term. Mr. Schleicher owns and operates Northside Heights Mobile Home Park, Schleicher Mobile Home Sales, Inc., and Duane A. Schleicher, Inc., each located in Carbon County. Mr. Rentschler is co-owner and manager of Rentschler Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located in Slatington, Lehigh County.
John F. Simock of Neffs was honored on his retirement from the Board after 25 years of service. His contributions to the organization and the community were duly noted:
John, a longtime community member of Neffs, was appointed to the Board of Neffs Bancorp, Inc. and the Neffs National Bank in 1996 and elected in 1997. John served on numerous committees at the both organizations and was instrumental in many of the facility renovation and expansion projects. His extensive knowledge of construction industry and expertise in running a successful company was well recognized in the Board and by shareholders alike.
He established the construction company John F. Simock, Inc. in 1964 and has remained active in the community company. John also established several local housing developments. He is a member of Association Builders & Contractors Inc. and Lehigh Valley Home Builders Association.
For 10 years, John served as Assistant Fire Chief for Neffs Fire Co. He has also been active at the Union United Church of Christ in Neffs where he served as deacon, elder, and consistory member. John is a lifetime member of Upper Lehigh Lions Club and served as President in 1989. He was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedication and humanitarian service by Lions Club International Foundation. John was also involved with The Boy Scouts of America.
During the meeting, the 2021 financial highlights were reviewed noting the $3.5MM In Net Income, Asset growth of 8.8% to $409.1 MM, Loan growth of 9.9% to $205.6 MM and Deposit growth of 9.5% to $322.5MM along with other favorable results. The operational challenges and accomplishments of 2020 were discussed as well as the challenges for 2021.
The Neffs National Bank, is an independent community bank with offices in Neffs and Walnutport, PA committed to serving the financial needs of its customers and local communities with high quality customer focused service and maximizing long-term shareholder value.
During Community Banking Month, held in April, The Neffs National Bank, employees, and customers raised over 200lbs of pet items for the Sanctuary at Haafsville, donated a total of 13 units of blood during the Miller-Keystone Blood Drive, dropped off donations for Habitat for Humanity, and the participated in the annual Shred Event to safely discard personal documents. The month long food drive held at both offices successfully raised much needed nonperishable food items for our local community. The Walnutport office raised over 196lbs of items for The Northern Lehigh Food Bank while the Neffs office raised over 450lbs for Parkland Cares Food Pantry.
