Lt. Gov. Henderson calls on Utahns to commit to women’s equality and opportunity on International Women’s Day
SALT LAKE CITY (March 8, 2021) — To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson is calling on Utahns to join her in “choosing to challenge” for women’s equality.
“We need more women leaders in government, business, and our communities,” Henderson said. “But we don’t need them simply as experts on women’s issues. We need them because their voices are necessary to improve our state, our country, and our world.”
As part of International Women’s Day, a global initiative celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, Henderson will participate in a town hall hosted by the World Trade Center, the Salt Lake Chamber, and the Women’s Business Center of Utah.
The virtual Town Hall will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 8. To attend, register for the Zoom link at WBCUtah.org; contact [email protected] with questions. Utahns are invited to join Lt. Gov. Henderson in using the #ChooseToChallenge hashtag.
