Governor Sisolak signs 44 bills, including bills to bolster mental, physical health supports for Nevadans
CARSON CITY, Nevada – Today, Governor Steve Sisolak signed 44 bills into law, including bills to bolster mental and physical health support for first responders, mothers and children.
Assembly Bill 96, which provides peer support for first responders. The bill authorizes a governmental entity that licenses and regulates emergency response employees to contract with a nonprofit organization to establish a program to provide peer support counseling for these employees who are experiencing mental health issues as a result of the nature of their work.
Assembly Bill 119, which requires the Maternal Mortality Review Committee to review disparities in maternal morality based on race, ethnicity, age and geographic region so the State can look at the issues and make policy recommendations to reduce disparities.
Senate Bill 146, which coordinates the medical and mental health care for children in foster care in Nevada.
