Promises Made, Promises Kept: Governor Sisolak provides update on his 2022 State of the State Address
CARSON CITY, NV – Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak released an update on the State’s progress since the Governor gave his 2022 State of the State Address. During his speech, the Governor declared the State of Nevada “on the move” – and six months later, the State continues to move in the right direction for the 3.2 million people who call the Silver State home.
“Every day, we are working to build a brighter future for Nevadans. When I make a promise, I know there are thousands of people – families, workers, children – relying on the State to follow through,“ said Governor Sisolak. “I’m proud of the work that’s been done in the last six months to help lower the cost of living for Nevadans, we're going to continue going above and beyond for every resident that calls Nevada home.”
The Governor made several key promises in his 2022 State of the State Address all aimed at helping Nevadans, from making child care more affordable to supporting law enforcement efforts to keep residents safe.
Notable accomplishments in the last six months include:

Notable accomplishments in the last six months include:
- $500 million “Home Means Nevada” initiative for affordable housing developments
- $50 million investment into the “Nevada Child Care Fund” to lower out-of-pocket costs for families and expand eligibility to assistance
- $20 million to fund Nevada’s Crisis Stabilization Centers to ensure emergency behavioral health care centers are available to Nevadans in need
- Invested $75 million to ensure schools will provide universal free school meals for all Nevada public schools for the 2022-2023 school year
- Phase 1 of High Speed NV launched in May, with more than $500 million to be invested for broadband infrastructure
- The Governor created the extreme heat leadership and environmental justice teams to create a statewide strategy to deal with extreme heat and ensure equitable solutions to the impacts of climate change
