Gov. Spencer Cox names Rex Facer as chair of the independent redistricting commission
(SALT LAKE CITY) — Gov. Spencer J. Cox has appointed Rex L. Facer II as chair of the state’s independent redistricting commission.
Facer, an associate professor of public management in the Romney Institute of Public Service and Ethics at Brigham Young University’s Marriott School, teaches in the Master of Public Administration program, a position he’s held since 2009. He has a Ph.D. in Public Management, Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration from the University of Georgia.
“Rex Facer will bring the public policy expertise, leadership experience and unbiased opinion that we’re looking for in this independent redistricting commission,” Gov. Cox said. “We’re grateful to Dr. Facer for his service and look forward to his leadership in this new process.”
