Eighth and Final Round of Vax Nevada Days Winners Announced in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center
Las Vegas, NV (August 26, 2021) -- Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced the eighth and final round of winners for Vax Nevada Days, a public health incentive program launched in July.
In Las Vegas, the Governor was joined by Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas and Convention and Visitors Authority; Treasurer Zach Conine; Senator Jacky Rosen; Congresswoman Dina Titus; GOED Director Michael Brown; Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom; Las Vegas Councilman Brian Knudsen; City of North Las Vegas Councilman Scott Black; representatives from International Gaming Technology; representatives from the Nevada Division of State Parks and Nevada Department of Wildfire; and other invited guests to congratulate winners.
A viewing party was hosted in Reno at area nonprofit, Sierra Arts Foundation. Assemblywoman Teresa Benitez-Thompson and Immunize Nevada representatives were on hand in Reno.
A total of 433 vaccinated individuals aged 12 and older were drawn as winners in the final Vax Nevada Days event. Some recipients who live in the southern Nevada area were in attendance for this week’s live reveal, but winners are located throughout the state, including Boulder City, Fallon and Fernley.
Halim P. from Las Vegas was named as the winner of the $1 million grand-prize winner.
“During this promotion we’ve had winners from all across the Silver State - Fernley to Boulder City, Elko to Mesquite, and of course folks from Las Vegas and Reno,” Gov. Sisolak said. “It was a big promotion and we worked with a whole team of partners to make it happen. So, why make such a big deal out of COVID-19 vaccines? Because, as the scientists and health care experts keep telling us, vaccines are the only way we will end this pandemic. The virus isn’t slowing down, so we can’t afford to slow our efforts either.”
The following is a list of winners’ names and the amounts they were rewarded that was read during tonight’s event. Other winners for this week’s drawings preferred not to have their names announced or are still being contacted to claim their prize, following the procedures laid out in the official Vax Nevada Day rules.
Twenty winners of $5,000 college savings plans to be used for any post-secondary education, including:
