The Allentown Rescue Mission’s Clean Team Worker of the Month
James Z.

Picture
(ALLENTOWN, PA) – The Allentown Rescue Mission congratulates its Clean Team worker of the month
for February, James Z.
James grew up the victim of an alcoholic father. He suffered verbal and physical abuse. Never able to
forgive his father, James relied on his mother to teach him life skills needed to become an adult.
Unfortunately, James’ mother passed away before he learned how to live responsibly and
independently.
James received a considerable inheritance but did not have the financial skills to manage a large amount
of money. He ignored advisors and quit his job to live freely with his inheritance. Eventually, he
squandered the money through a series of poor decisions.
After exhausting all his financial resources, James found himself homeless, living in a tent near the
Allentown Rescue Mission. Clients of the Allentown Rescue Mission encouraged him to go to the
Emergency Shelter, and soon James decided to give the shelter a chance.
At the shelter, James learned about the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Transformation Program. Although
he had heard good things about the program, James was reluctant to join because he didn’t consider
himself a religious person. But after thoughtful consideration, he decided to join the program. To his
surprise, James enjoyed attending New Bethany Church on Sundays and learning more about
Christianity.
After graduating from the Transformation Program, James began working for the Clean Team. He has
performed well on all jobs that he has been asked to do. His current assignment is street cleaning on
Hamilton Street. James enjoys his work and has been a model employee.
Good luck, James, and thank you for being a flexible and dependable employee.
