ICYMI: Committee Republicans Celebrate Women's History Month with Small Business Roundtables
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In case you missed it, in honor of Women's History Month, Reps. Claudia Tenney (NY-22), Maria Salazar (FL-27), Beth Van Duyne (TX-24), and Young Kim (CA-39) hosted roundtables with women-owned small businesses in their districts.
Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) joined Rep. Tenney (NY-22) for her women-owned small business roundtable.
- "I thank Ranking Member Luetkemeyer for taking time to speak with women-owned small businesses in Upstate New York today," said Rep. Tenney. "Now more than ever, it is critical that we understand the challenges small business owners are facing so we can deliver the right resources to help them recover from this pandemic and come back stronger. It was such an honor that the Republican leader of the House Small Business Committee attended this event to hear directly from our local business owners. Bipartisan legislation I recently supported to extend the Paycheck Protection Program was signed into law by the president, which will continue this vital relief program for our small businesses. As a member of the Small Business Committee, I will continue to work across the aisle to deliver these kind of commonsense solutions for our local employers."
"Every March, we celebrate Women’s History Month and the countless contributions women have made to our nation," said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. "I am extremely grateful we live in a country that allows every person, regardless of gender, to peruse and reach their full potential. This Women’s History Month is a great time to uplift our women-owned small businesses and female entrepreneurs while celebrating those who have contributed and continue to contribute so much to America."
Rep. Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) also hosted an in-person small business roundtable with her constituents.
- During the roundtable, local businesses owners and representatives were able to share their concerns about the economy, how the pandemic has changed how their businesses operate, and how they have made adjustments. Many were able to share Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) success stories and their excitement towards the PPP Extension Act.
