Celebrating the Leadership of Margot Berg, Public Art Director
The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) celebrates the exceptional leadership and career of Margot Berg, Public Art Director to the City of Philadelphia. Margot will be moving on from her service to the City effective Friday, March 12th.
A native Philadelphian, Margot has served as the City's Public Art Director since 2006. In this role, Margot was responsible for the commissioning of over 30 new public artworks through the Percent for Art Program. She also led the conservation and management of the City's 1,000+ piece public art collection, the largest and most renowned in the nation. Margot has dedicated more than twenty-five years working in the public and nonprofit sectors in community planning, public art, and arts administration.
"Though this is a tremendous loss to the City of Philadelphia, we wish Margot the absolute best," said Kelly Lee, Chief Cultural Officer and Director of OACCE. "Her dedication to, understanding of, and impact on public art in Philadelphia is unmatched and will be terribly missed."
In gratitude, OACCE reflects on a few of Margot's many favorite projects from her tenure as Philadelphia's Public Art Director.
