Musikfest / Christmas season / City
Thinking about upcoming Musikfest / 2021 lack of Christmas City on Main St. curious about how things will evolve this year. Especially with problems associated with Musikfest. Speaking with several Lehigh Valley residents who agreed (even a few in Philadelphia). Mid-July submitted interview request to mayor's office. Questions about holiday season were, indirectly, answered during press conference about Christmas. Important questions about Musikfest remain unanswered. Surreal ValeCity will be covering several musicians / bands. Article about Musikfest will be live.
Interview Questions submitted to Stephanie Augello (Executive Assistant). Ms. Augello replied mayor was not in office that week. She would show him the request. As of August 2, no reply. ValeCity always posts questions submitted to politicians / candidates. The following is a copy of original e-mail:
Ms. Augello,
I own / staff independent, online media: Surreal ValeCity. Would it be possible to have an in-person interview with Mayor Reynolds?
Topics Covered:
Musikfest: safety (especially in 2022 / gun violence). Alcohol sales: How are businesses / vendors monitored for violations of state laws? Including serving while intoxicated. Any plans to expand the festival? (Example: areas like the Rose Garden could be used as another Platz / stage. Musikfest highlights only a small section). Take Musikfest back from ArtsQuest?
How is the city changing / evolving? What, real / true effect did the pandemic have on the city as a whole (small businesses / events / residents)?
Holiday season: Plans to return primary focus to Main St.? I talked to several people last year. Christmas Village / Sun Inn Courtyard was missed. Any plans to return "Christmas City" back to city vs. ArtsQuest?
Professional background:
2013 - 2016: Covered Lehigh Valley in A Valley and Beyond online media.
2016 - present: Cover events in Philadelphia / New York City / A few in Lehigh Valley in Surreal ValeCity.
Attended Musikfest 5 days 2021.
Stopped by Main St. Holiday season 2021.
Thank you for your time and any consideration. I hope everyone and your families continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
Michael Phoenix
