WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) announced Jim Carter will direct day-to-day operations of its Center for American Prosperity (CAP). Carter will work alongside CAP Chairman Larry Kudlow, former Director of the National Economic Council, to promote pro-growth, capitalist policies including low taxes, deregulation, federal spending reduction, energy independence, sound money, and free, fair, reciprocal trade policies.
“I’m delighted Jim is joining the Center. I know he will fight tirelessly for policy solutions that will bring prosperity and opportunity to hardworking Americans across America,” said Larry Kudlow, Vice Chair of AFPI’s Board and Chair of the Center for American Prosperity. “His experience and commitment to pro-growth, free-enterprise, capitalist policies make him well-suited to lead America First Policy Institute’s economic policy work.”
Carter brings decades of experience to this role including senior positions with the Senate Budget Committee, Department of Labor, Department of Treasury, and the National Economic Council at the White House.
“Americans are struggling due to higher prices, empty store shelves, and paychecks that aren’t keeping up with bills,” said Jim Carter, Director of the Center for American Prosperity. “The Center for American Prosperity at the America First Policy Institute will champion policies that worked just a few years ago to raise paychecks, drive job growth, and provide new opportunities for all Americans from every walk of life. We must act now to defeat America’s current economic malaise and return to economic policies that actually work.”
