Additional vaccination data added to COVID-19 Dashboard
Carson City, NV — Today, Nevada’s COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated to include COVID-19 vaccination for those ages 5 to 11 years and additional doses for all eligible groups.
Vaccination began for Nevada’s younger age group earlier this month and those ages 5 to 11 years who have been vaccinated are included as vaccinations initiated and also under their age group on the demographics page.
The COVID-19 Dashboard update will change the percent of the eligible population that has been vaccinated to include this younger population.
With this addition of vaccination for those ages 5 to 11, more than 277,000 children will be added to the denominator indicating the percent of the eligible population who have initiated or completed vaccination as shown on the Current Status tab of the Dashboard.
This change will decrease the percentage of eligible Nevadans statewide that have been vaccinated.
Additionally, third doses and booster doses of the vaccine are also now included on the COVID-19 Dashboard.
This data will include the number of third doses and booster doses administered at least 28 days after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines as reported to Nevada WebIZ starting in late August when boosters were first announced.
People with certain immunocompromising conditions are recommended to get a third dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine 28 days after their second dose. A booster dose is recommended at least 6 months after a two-dose series of vaccine or 2 months after receiving the Janssen vaccine. Third doses and boosters included in the Dashboard update will be listed as a by-county column on the Current Status page. These doses are also included in the key metrics figures.
The COVID-19 vaccine is now available in locations statewide for those age 5 years and older. More information can be found at NVCOVIDFighter.org or by calling 800-401-0946. The COVID-19 vaccine is free of cost.
Reminder: Updates to the Dashboard are applied incrementally and it may take up to an hour for all data to display.
