Definite emphasis on Energy!
The magazine loves to support other indies! Founder, Michael Phoenix, is also a self-published author of 3 books. Know how hard it is to raise money / promote / etc.
Browsing Kickstarter, decided on Film category. When Energy has a Pulse caught the attention, mainly for the title.
Scrolling down, the storyboard is very realistic and amazing. Points here definite.
Ms. Hurt is definitely in the modern world. You really have to combine projects to have the best effect / reach the largest audience. She is using this short film to promote her book.
Points and credit for Ms. Hurt launching the project this early. Her book is in the final rewrite stage. She is already starting to plan the short film. Combining the film with book may give both the extra edge and push to have something seriously long term here! But, there may be a drawback...
With the book not being finished, this project may be a little too early.
Ms. Hurt's energy and passion for both projects is very clear. Her complete dedication removes all doubt of completion. One thing I like to see in a project is a few details about plot / characters / etc. These are lacking in this Kickstarter project. Plus, a lack of expense detail are what make me curious about the "a little too early" part.
I would seriously like to see updates that include both as the book and film evolve.
Despite these points, there is an unknown variable here that really has my curiosity very high (book and film). I would love to the short become a reality and be released. From the cover shot and title alone, definitely want to read the book!
Wishing Ms. Hurt much success with the book / short film. And with every project in her bright future.
When Energy has a Pulse Kickstarter is highly recommended. Mainly because of Ms. Hurt's true dedication, energy and passion. Also for the true potential of the short film and book.
