Chapter 1 / A Tough Beginning
Ms. Blum literally starts at the beginning of her life. From birth and early childhood, she describes a beginning some people would not have survived. A little monotonous and wordy at times, it is a very good and fairly quick start. By wordy I mean repetitious: "We had this.... We had this.... etc." Overall, by the chapter's end, I could not wait for what happened next. She adds just enough detail to present a very good visual. This chapter did start the book off with a high absorption rate. Which is something I love! If everything around me fades away, it is a great story already.
Chapters 2 and 3
Sorry, not going into a complete breakdown. Ms. Blum continues her story in the same style. Starting in chapter 2, the repetition fades quick. It appears she just starts writing from memory vs. focusing on every detail. It also appears she starts developing a natural flow vs. The almost forced focus on correct grammar. Ms. Blum gives us enough detail to continue the immersion factor.

She also leaves us asking important questions. "How did you deal with your father's death? Please more details about the summers! Winters may have been spent hibernating. What did everyone do?" Plus many more. She may answer these questions in upcoming chapters.

Waterski Girl Wonder is a MUST READ for anyone! Ms. Blum is not afraid to give details of her life / experiences. Without going overboard. She has a style that leaves you wanting more at the end of each chapter. The overall flow, is smooth and consistent. One thing that is very important to me: visualization immersion. I did this review at a library. After the first pages, everything around me faded. I could easily see what was happening as if I were there.

Main question: right now, you can get a hard copy for under $5.00. The Kindle price is a little high for most books. Is it worth it? Answer: A very definitive YES!!!!
