Trump Campaign Statement on Memorial Day 2019
Arlington, VA – In honor of Memorial Day today, Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer (ret’d.), a combat veteran, and a member of the Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. Advisory Board, issued the following statement.
“Words are never enough to express the gratitude we have for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and our liberties. That’s why we join the rest of America on this Memorial Day to pray, remember, be thankful for and honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces – with salutes, placing flowers on graves, and a million other acts of commemoration. As President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump did at Arlington National Cemetery before departing on their trip to Japan, we at Team Trump will stand in unity with the rest of America today with solemn respect and appreciation for our fallen heroes – those women and men who, as President Lincoln so aptly noted, ‘gave the last full measure of devotion’."
