Trump Campaign and RNC announce massive Q1 2019 fundraising haul
With a combined $82 million cash on hand, the Campaign, RNC, and joint committees are stronger than ever, fueled by immense support from small donors
NEW YORK, NY – Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and the Republican National Committee announced a massive fundraising haul for Q1 2019, and will report a combined $76.1 million haul to the U.S. Federal Election Commission. Together, the Campaign, the RNC, and the joint fundraising committees have a striking $82 million cash on hand.
Independently, the Trump Campaign now has approximately 21 times more cash on hand than the Obama Campaign had at this point in the re-election cycle. The Campaign took in $30.3 million overall in the first quarter and now has $40.8 million cash on hand.
The FEC report once again highlights President Trump’s immense grassroots support among small donors. 98.79% of first quarter contributions to the Campaign and the joint committees came from “low-dollar” contributions, defined as $200 or less. The average donation to the Trump Campaign was $34.26.
President Trump’s support among small donors is further reflected in the fact that the Campaign, the RNC, and the joint fundraising committees have already enlisted 100,000 new small donors in 2019 and have acquired more than one million new small donors since Inauguration Day.
“Our prodigious fundraising is further proof of President Trump’s clear record of accomplishment on behalf of the American people,” said Brad Parscale, Campaign Manager, Donald J. Trump for President Inc. “The tremendous support he is receiving is a result of ‘promises made, promises kept’ and the enormous appeal of his determination to Make America Great Again. The President is in a vastly stronger position at this point than any previous incumbent president running for re-election, and only continues to build momentum.”
Additionally, the RNC posted a $45.8 million haul for Q1 2019 – their best Q1 for a non-election year and the second best overall. $27 million of the RNC’s contributions in Q1 came from small donors, defined as contributing $200 or less.
“The success of our fundraising is a testament to the continued enthusiasm and support for President Trump, his policies, and the litany of promises he has fulfilled for the American people,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel remarked. “The RNC is already investing these donations into our expansive, permanent, data-driven field program to put President Trump and Republicans in prime-position for another historic election night in 2020.”
