Different / believable / local experience
I met Mr. Okabayashi when stopping by his table at Wizard World Philadelphia 2019. Very friendly and happy to answer questions, I informed him Surreal ValeCity supports indie creators and features crowdfunding projects. What really caught the attention about The Foreigner is using an accountant for the main character. Ok, this one is very different from the start! Most people view accounting as a boring job. I have an excellent imagination, picturing throwing someone in that profession into an alternate reality. This has very serious possibilities!
Skipping the introduction video, Mr. Okabayashi provides samples of art and a great backstory from book 1. Including one of the kingdoms having a very unique army... Doing an excellent job of chronological order, art samples from Book Two are next! In true storyteller fashion, leaves us with questions that I can not wait to be answered. I have not even read Book One.

Scrolling towards the bottom, great visual examples of the rewards are provided. Including: images, breakdowns and more. He definitely provides well balanced and great rewards for every budget, literally ($1 and up!)

A brief 'About Me' section highlights all the serious work Mr. Okabayashi does as a freelancer (Marvel, Magic the Gathering and more!). He has no problem stating very realistic challenges faced. Challenges that everyone faces when on a deadline.

Overall Recommendation
This Kickstarter is one of the best crowdfunding projects I have seen! The presentation, while a bit long, is excellent. Each section gives enough detail to keep your interest and scrolling down. The chronological order makes it very easy to follow. You almost forget about the Rewards sidebar. Writing and storytelling are a major contribution to the overall flow. A well-balanced rewards section shows Mr. Okabayashi knows some people are on a very tight budget. Graphics / illustrations are thought out and well presented. Plus, the backstory / teasers have my interest very high. As stated, I have not even read the first book yet!
The Foreigner, Book Two has my highest recommendation for backing. Mr. Okabayashi placed a lot of time, thought and effort into creating not only a unique series, but Kickstarter.
