Small Business Committee Passes and Recommends Five Bills to the House of Representatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the House Committee on Small Business held a hybrid markup of legislation aimed to put the nation’s job creators first. All five bills were passed by committee.
“Three of the five bills we considered today aimed to improve the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Small Business Development Centers Program, the SBA’s Women's Business Centers Program, and the SBA’s SCORE Program,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer.
“Additionally, the Committee considered legislation to enhance and streamline the information that is published by agencies as it pertains to the impact of federal regulations on small business. For too long, federal regulations have an oversized impact on small business and actions to limit bureaucratic red tape is always a step in the right direction.
“Lastly, this Committee examined my bill to bolster the SBA’s independent Office of Advocacy and its role of reporting on international economic matters. Having an independent voice that speaks on behalf of small businesses is critical on all trade matters.
“It is refreshing to work in a bipartisan manner with our colleagues across the aisle with the common interest of improving our nation’s small businesses, entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators.”
H.R. 6445 - The Small Business Development Centers Improvement Act of 2022 - introduced by Reps. Golden and Hagedorn.
H.R. 6441 - The Women’s Business Centers Improvement Act of 2022 - introduced by Reps. Davids and Tenney.
H.R. 6450 - The SCORE for Small Business Act of 2022 - introduced by Reps. Kim and Craig
H.R. 4877 - The One Stop Shop for Small Business Compliance Act of 2021 - introduced by Reps. Delgado and Van Duyne.
H.R. 6454 - The Small Business Advocacy Improvements Act of 2022 - introduced by Ranking Member Luetkemeyer and Rep. Carter.
