Caught this one on Facebook
Noticed this one posted on Facebook and had to check it out. Curiosity almost ALWAYS gets the better of me....
Unlike crowdfunding projects on sites like Kickstarter, this one is short and to the point. The main aspect I liked about it? How the concept (basically fearing mental illness) does happen in our society. At times, people / organizations / governments attempt to bury it. Like not a single person has any form of mental illness. (Going to be good here and zero sarcasm).
Another aspect about the concept? Something that goes even deeper in our society and the way we see mortality. How, through science and nature, we constantly strive for a longer life. While this is a great concept, we tend to overlook the everyday (every minute) dangers of our world. Examples: crossing the street / eating (choking) / too much exercise / etc.
I can easily see how Ms. Kotula, if she would ever choose, could stretch this into a full length feature film. The overall concept and applying science fiction / the future to our modern day world is excellent. Bringing to forefront a topic people talk about, mostly in a passive way, is slightly daring. Especially with how serious she appears about it.
