SEVEN ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANTS FROM ALLENTOWN ROTARY

(Allentown, PA)-- At the June 11th Rotary meeting seven Allentown non-profit organizations were recognized for receiving grant awards for this year's Community Service grants. Our Allentown Rotary Club and the Allentown Rotary Foundation are very pleased to be able to award grants each year to deserving non-profit organizations. These awards are made possible because of generous donations made to the Allentown Rotary Foundation by current and past members of our club. The focus and funding priorities were on Basic Education & Literacy and Disease Prevention. Consideration was given to programs that offer services for food, shelter, education, and healthcare for children and adults living in the City of Allentown. Grant awards were made to: Boys & Girls Club of Allentown $3,000 grant toward the Istation program for children from the Allentown School District. Fund to Benefit Children & Youth $3,000 grant toward funds for providing basic needs for neglected and at-risk children and youth in Allentown. Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley $2,500 grant toward the Workforce Development Program to help low-income / unemployed members of the Jordan Heights area. Jewish Family Service of the Lehigh Valley $2,500 grant toward the Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body program to benefit Allentown families who receive food from the JFS Community Food Pantry. The Salvation Army - Allentown Citadel Corps $2,000 grant for Back to School Backpack Distribution program. Center for Humanistic Change, Inc. $2,000 grant toward the Crossroads Mentoring Program to help Allentown School District students in elementary schools, including Central, Jefferson, Roberto Clemente, Roosevelt, and Union Terrace. The Lehigh Conference of Churches $1,000 grant for the Conference Kitchen
