PRESIDENT TRUMP LAUNCHES 'BLACK VOICES FOR TRUMP' AHEAD OF THE 2020 ELECTION
Coalition to Spearhead African American Outreach and Engagement Efforts Nationally
President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence launched Black Voices for Trump today in Atlanta, Georgia. The event featured the Honorable Ben Carson and Senior Advisor Katrina Pierson who both emphasized the administration’s policies that have empowered African American communities across the country.
“African Americans have given their blood, sweat, love, devotion, and tears for this nation,” said President Trump. “You deserve a government that is loyal to YOU. After years of rebuilding foreign nations, we are finally rebuilding OUR nation. We are investing YOUR communities, defending YOUR safety, and fighting for YOUR dreams and YOUR children’s future.”
Black Voices for Trump is comprised of black business owners, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officers, veterans, educators, activists and patriots who have dedicated their lives to building stronger communities and a better country for future generations to come. These trailblazers have made significant contributions to our nation and exemplify the best of America.
“From economic opportunities to educational funding, the African American community has directly benefited from President Trump’s policies,” said Katrina Pierson, Senior Advisor at Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. “This coalition is a national effort to mobilize and empower African Americans who support President Trump to help get the message of 'Promises Made, Promises Kept'. African Americans are key beneficiaries of the America First agenda, and the growing support for the President’s re-election is a testament to the historic accomplishments made in this administration.”
President Trump's common-sense policies have created more than 6 million new jobs, 1.1 million of which have gone to African Americans. As a result, the black unemployment rate is at its lowest level in over 49 years and has hit record lows during the Trump administration. Since taking office, 350,000 African Americans have been lifted out of poverty and families are saving an average of $2,917 on their federal income taxes. In addition to building a more prosperous economy, President Trump has delivered on his promise to advance Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by increasing federal funding by 14%, a historic record for any president.
Black Voices for Trump will build a massive coalition to share success stories of President Trump’s accomplishments and create an opportunity for African Americans, who believe in prosperity and freedom to participate in supporting the President’s re-election campaign. Re-election will ensure greater economic opportunities, safer communities and better healthcare policies for generations to come.
