Nevadans urged to enjoy Public Lands Day, Sept. 26
CARSON CITY, Nevada – Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak issued a proclamation recognizing Saturday, Sept. 26 as Public Lands Day in Nevada and urging residents to take advantage of the State’s vast number of outdoor opportunities.
“Nevada’s precious wildlands are more important than ever in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, when being able to escape to the outdoors is critical for our mental and physical health and well-being,” Sisolak said.
He urged Nevadans to enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly by following the guidelines for COVID-19 activities and fire restrictions in place throughout the State.
In recognition of the day, fees for entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waved at all of Nevada’s State Parks for Nevada residents.
