Ranking Member Luetkemeyer Issues Statement on Abysmal Inflation Rate
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) released the following statement on the latest consumer price index report:
“American families are hurting under President Biden. Democrats' policies have led this country into devastatingly high inflation, snarled supply chains, and worker shortages across the board due to their wasteful spending and pointless policies,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer.
“Our small businesses struggle every day to stock their shelves, retain workers, and keep their doors open. Instead of legislating and implementing policies to help American consumers and small businesses, this administration is focused on shoving leftist wish-list items down the throats of everyday Americans.
“We are now seeing the highest inflation rate since 1982. This latest consumer price index report shows a massive annual inflation rise of 7.5 percent - higher than what was expected.
“Americans cannot keep up with reckless spending coming from the Democrats and this administration. Enough is enough.”
