“Larry Elder’s COVID whiff is jeopardizing the recall” -
Gov Candidate Jenny Rae Le Roux explains how to win this election with concrete, data-driven plans
REDDING —Republican Candidate for Governor Jenny Rae Le Roux outlined an alternate vision of the Republican strategy - one based on data-driven solutions and concrete plans - at yesterday’s candidate forum in Visalia, offering a path to victory in next week’s recall election that has increasingly looked favorable for Newsom.
She also laid the blame for Newsom’s late momentum in the race squarely at the feet of Larry Elder. “Five weeks ago, Gavin Newsom was in trouble. Our recall effort was neck and neck and we had the momentum. But then Florida and Texas experienced huge COVID spikes and Newsom capitalized on fear tactics to scare Californians. Elder has failed to convince Californian Independents and Democrats that he will keep the state away from the ‘COVID cliff,’ talking endlessly about medical freedom without offering any plan to slow the spread of COVID. Elder’s no-plan COVID plan will lose us this election - and when Newsom wins, Californians lose.”
While Elder has validated Newsom’s scare tactics by saying “Before my first cup of tea as governor, I’ll repeal mask and vaccine mandates,” Le Roux has been meeting with hospital executives, county public health officials, and healthcare workers to develop a comprehensive plan to increase vaccination rates, speed up testing, and make better treatments available to those who contract COVID. Le Roux’s plan will save lives and maintain freedom.
Le Roux continued, “Gavin Newsom has not managed COVID well. California is the 6th youngest state and the 5th healthiest and yet we’re not even among the best 15 states in cumulative case rate or cumulative death rate. But Elder is making him look like a life-saver because he’s not taking COVID seriously, making false claims that ‘no such threat exists today’ of our hospitals reaching capacity - despite average ICU capacity in 11 counties exceeding 90%.”
Le Roux is a successful entrepreneur and business owner who decided to run for Governor because so much is at stake: “California can’t afford another year of Newsom’s leadership. As Republicans, we must offer Californians concrete, data-driven plans that convince them we’ll outperform Newsom on every dimension.”
