Governor’s Office staff begins vaccination according to NV COVID-19 Vaccination Playbook
Governor Sisolak to announce his plans for vaccination soon
CARSON CITY - As the State continues to move through the NV COVID-19 Vaccine Playbook, members of the Governor’s Office in both Northern and Southern Nevada became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in the last week.
The Governor and the frontline employees within his office fall into the “Continuity of Governance” category within the NV COVID-19 Vaccine Playbook “Frontline/Essential Workforce” prioritization lane. According to the Playbook, vaccine events are supported for occupational groups in the county of employment.
Vaccinations for Governor’s Office staff working in the Capitol are being organized through Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) and vaccinations for staff located in Southern Nevada are being organized through the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD).
In an effort to be fully compliant with the guidance provided in the Playbook, the Governor’s Office completed an internal evaluation to determine who is eligible for prioritized vaccination.
Vaccination opportunities for eligible Northern Nevada employees began on February 25, and will continue until the vaccination of all eligible staff members who wish to be vaccinated is complete. Opportunities for eligible Southern Nevada employees began to be scheduled this week.
The Governor, who is eligible both due to his age and his occupation, will be announcing where and when he will be getting his vaccine in the near future.
