Governor appoints Tasha Williams to the Second District Juvenile Court
SALT LAKE CITY (July 30, 2020) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Tasha Williams as a judge for the Second District Juvenile Court.
“I look forward to Tasha Williams serving on the Second District Juvenile Court,” said Gov. Herbert. “Her dedication and expertise to juvenile and child welfare make her an excellent candidate and I am confident she will excel in this capacity.”
Currently, Williams serves as a managing attorney in the State of Utah’s Juvenile Defender Attorney’s Office. She is a member of the Utah Commission on Juvenile Justice and sits on the advisory board of the Utah Indigent Defense Commission. Williams received a J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and holds a bachelor's degree in political science and communications from Southern Utah University.
“I am grateful and humbled to be appointed to the Second District Juvenile Court,” said Williams. “I am honored to serve Utah’s children and families. If confirmed, I pledge to uphold the law impartially, competently and diligently.”
This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
