Picture
LANSING, Mich. – Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer proclaimed April 8, 2022, as Opening Day for Detroit Tigers to celebrate and promote the 121st season as a part of Major League Baseball.

“Opening Day is a day that Michiganders across our great state—including me—look forward to all year,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “I hope everyone attending or watching today’s game has a great, safe day watching the Tigers kick off their 121st MLB season. Longer days and warmer weather are just around the corner, and Oberon Day and Opening Day are two signs that Pure Michigan season is kicking into high gear!”
