Governor Sisolak issues statement on passing of legendary illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher
CARSON CITY, Nevada – Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak issued the following statement on the passing of legendary illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher.
“I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our legendary illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher. He was a ‘Master of the Impossible’ and an exemplary Nevadan whose contributions – alongside the late great Roy Horn - helped shine a bright spotlight on Las Vegas’s entertainment industry to the world,” said Governor Sisolak. “Kathy and I send our love and condolences to his family, friends and loved ones at this time”
Fischbacher was born in Germany and his love for magic and his devotion to animals led him to his first appearance alongside the late Roy Horn on the Las Vegas Strip in 1967. They performed together for decades, incorporating their love of animals in their acts and each time raising the bar for the entertainment industry and illusionists around the world alike. Most notably bringing to the Las Vegas strip their world-famous family-friendly show, ‘Siegfried & Roy at the Mirage’. Over the course of his career, he delivered surprise and joy to thousands of visitors from around the world with their performances here in Nevada.
