Governor Sisolak reminds Nevadans, visitors of safety measures ahead of holiday weekends
CARSON CITY, Nevada - Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak urged Nevadans and visitors to stay safe and healthy during the upcoming holiday weekends.
The effects of the Thanksgiving holiday have just started to recede and going into the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, it is more important than ever to remember that COVID-19 is still among us in our communities.
“While we are working towards large-scale vaccination distribution, we must remain vigilant,” said Gov. Sisolak. “So as you discuss whether to take the risk and gather together in the coming days, I ask you to consider the nurses, doctors, and first responders who will be working shifts on Christmas to keep us safe. The actions we take will impact them directly. Hospitals are crowded and healthcare workers are asking for our help. Let’s make safe choices to protect them and show them we have their backs.”
The Governor asked Nevadans to set up virtual visits, carry out gatherings with your household members, and if necessary, limiting interactions to small groups of no more than 10 people from two households.
Additionally, reminding everyone to protect yourself and others, stay home when you can, wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands.
