Governor Sisolak joins early childhood roundtable with Northern Nevada providers, University of Nevada, Reno
LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak virtually joined an early childhood roundtable hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno, in partnership with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
“Childcare and early childhood education are critical priorities for my administration. An early investment in our kids is a long-term investment in our State,” the Governor said. “You have all heard me talk about my focus on jobs and the economy. I want to be clear to you: access to high-quality childcare and education is an integral part of that work. Bringing in good-paying jobs will not matter if families cannot afford or do not have access to high-quality childcare.”
In addition to officials from multiple state agencies, the roundtable included early childhood providers who shared their experiences, challenges, and possible solutions. The Governor is committed to helping break down barriers and looking at ways the State can invest federal funding into our childcare system in the coming year.
