Gov. Sisolak signs Emergency Directive 033, adjusting Statewide standards on gatherings and other areas

Picture
LAS VEGAS, NV — Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed Emergency Directive 033 adjusting statewide standards on gatherings and other areas.  The Governor announced his intention to sign this new directive at a press conference held yesterday, September 29, 2020.

The new directive adjusts previous the limitation on gatherings from 50 people to 250 people or 50 percent of occupancy, whichever is less. This applies to both indoor and outdoor venues, including houses of worship. As mentioned during yesterday’s announcement and in the accompanying “Guidance for Safe Gatherings” that was issued, there are processes set forth for expanded capacity for larger venues and conferences or conventions, should additional requirements be met.

Additionally, Directive 033 allows local governments to ease restrictions on public access to playground equipment following consultation with local health authorities.  It also lifts some prior restrictions on in-person showings and open houses for single-family and multi-family residences, as long as all safety requirements are met.

All of the adjustments outlined above will be effective at 12:01am on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Finally, effective at 12:01am on Monday, October 5, 2020, all businesses and venues subject to capacity limitations shall post signs at public entrances identifying their COVID-19-adjusted capacity. Examples of signage are available to download and print from the Nevada Health Response website (links below).
