Gov. Sisolak & DHHS urge Nevadans to join Battle Born Medical Corps
Carson City, NV — Today, the Nevada Health Response Center and Nevada’s Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Preparedness Division joined Governor Sisolak to call on healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, and health care administrators to join the Battle Born Medical Corps and help expand Nevada’s medical care capacity during the COVID-19 crisis.
On Wednesday, Gov. Sisolak signed Emergency Directive 011, which is aimed at expanding the healthcare workforce to fight COVID-19. This Directive waives certain licensing requirements to allow Nevada to add additional health care workers into our medical system. It will also allow certain doctors, nurses, EMTs, and even medical students to go to work right now caring for COVID-19 patients.
“Our state was born in in the midst of one of our country’s darkest moments, and we rose from those depths to greatness,” Gov Sisolak said Wednesday. “Fighting for our State is in our very DNA – it's who we are as Nevadans. This is our moment to once again show the world what it means to be Battle Born.”
Those interested in joining the Corps can log onto ServNV.org, an existing website managed by Nevada’s Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Preparedness division.
