One of the best I have attended / covered: Physical or Online / Virtual
Day 3 / Final day, did not drop in until around 4. Still had a few on the list to attend. Made sure to check anything live in Expo. Unlike the video side of review, keeping it short this time. A major part of the festival I never thanked: Game Developers / Guest Speakers / Companies and more. Thank you for every minute of your time to be there. It did not matter what part of the world / time zone you lived. You did a phenomenal job (even if it was midnight or the next day...). Still have the post festival: It's over? How long until it happens next year???? Observation in chat at the end: People were glad it was virtual. I noticed posts from Germany / Antarctica and other countries saying otherwise they could not attend. During the closing comments, every single post was thanking everyone at Games For Change and even other attendees for making such a great festival. Hell, I did a few also.
I met people from other states and countries, possibly made some new contacts. Joined 2 chats with video (no joke!). Have a List of favorites added to Edge. Learned a lot in more than a few areas. At times, my mind was visualizing a 3d environment. At the end, realized the pros and cons to this type of festival. Main pros: I want to be where in how many seconds???? One side of a festival to the other. No waiting or sitting in the back for speakers / presentations. Much better chance of having questions answered in Q&A. (Know I forgot a few here). Honestly, save money. Cons: I remember someone saying they miss the human interaction. (Only one I can think of). These are from an attendees standpoint. Curious about an exhibitor / speaker / etc. point. That is for another article...
Again, extremely high level of gratitude and praise to everyone at Games for Change, especially Behind the Scenes / Technical. Thanks to everyone who attended for making even more unique and special. So much for a short version.
