REMINDER: Free COVID-19 Treatment Available

Picture
CARSON CITY, NV — Today, Nevada Health Response reminds all Nevadans that free COVID-19 treatment is available statewide.
Call the COVID-19 hotline at 800-401-0946 to determine if you are eligible for oral antivirals after infection or for pre-exposure medication to increase immune response if you were to be infected in the future.
Anyone can call the COVID-19 hotline to conduct the pre-screening online and make a telehealth appointment or they can do it themselves at NevadaCOVIDTreatment.com.
Medication available through this service includes Paxlovid and Evusheld.
Paxlovid is an oral antiviral medication that has been shown to reduce hospitalization and death. The medication is available at pharmacies around the state for those age 12 and older with mild to moderate COVID-19. Early use of Paxlovid has been shown to reduce the risk of severe disease and death in high-risk patients by up to 89%.
Evusheld is preventative protection from COVID-19 and is recommended for those who are immunocompromised or not recommended to receive a vaccine.
Telehealth is available for free as well as home-based services in some locations and fixed sites.
For more information on where to access free services go to NVHealthResponse.nv.gov/find-treatment and see “Free State-Supported Services.” American Rescue Plan Act funding has been allocated to support therapeutics in Nevada and by contacting the State’s hotline a telehealth appointment can be scheduled to assess treatment options.
Information on Paxlovid, Evusheld and COVID-19 vaccination can be found at NVHealthResponse.nv.gov or by calling the hotline, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
