Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Officer Jesse Madsen
On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, Officer Jesse Madsen was killed in the line of duty. Officer Madsen served the community for over sixteen years with the Tampa Police Department. He served his country with dedication and honor in the United States Marine Corps and Army Reserve. Officer Madsen received seven Life-saving awards at the Tampa Police Department and multiple medals and honors during his military service. Officer Madsen will be remembered as a highly decorated hero who sacrificed his life for the safety of others.
To honor the memory of Officer Jesse Madsen and his service to our state, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at the Pasco County Courthouse in New Port Richey, Florida, the Hillsborough County Courthouse in Tampa, Florida, the City Hall of Tampa, Florida, and the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
