First Lady Kathy Sisolak gives keynote address at Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Summit
LAS VEGAS, NV – Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak and First Lady Kathy Sisolak attended the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) Women’s Collective Summit at Caesars Palace on Thursday night where First Lady Sisolak gave a keynote address at the Spotlight Awards Dinner.
“As AAPI women, we know the obstacles that have confronted our paths. The unfortunate Anti-Asian hate discussion has a silver lining – it has brought together a movement for change,” said First Lady Sisolak. “We have seen more members of the AAPI community speaking out about hate crimes, getting involved in local, state and national elections and seeking public office themselves.”
The APAICS Women’s Collective Summit was created to bring powerful AAPI women together to share, inspire and take bold action towards creating a more representative democracy through political and public service careers.
“I couldn’t be prouder to see Kathy take the stage and inspire AAPI women from around the country to use their voices to create a better, more inclusive society,” said Governor Sisolak. “Kathy and I are proud to see so many of these women sharing ideas and opportunities – and I’m grateful to work alongside so many powerful AAPI women to identify and solve issues facing the community in Nevada.”
