Facilities dashboard updated to reflect corrected NDOC COVID-19 case numbers
Carson City, NV -- The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) and Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) today announced a change to the COVID-19 case data previously provided on Nevada institutions.
Following a review of recorded COVID-19 cases in Nevada correctional facilities published on the COVID-19 Facilities Dashboard, and in coordination with the DHHS Office of Public Health Investigations and Epidemiology, reporting errors linked to several facilities were found.
Incorrect identification of facilities resulted in duplicate entries, coding issues and the inclusion of negative COVID-19 test results which were then posted to the dashboard as confirmed positive cases. These were corrected and the information available now on the dashboard has been verified by the Department of Health and Human Services as accurate.
DHHS and NDOC will continue to work to prevent any future reporting errors and remedy any reporting inconsistencies as they arise in order to provide updated, accurate data.
