Transition committees submit government agency reviews to Gov.-elect Spencer Cox and Lt. Gov.-elect Deidre Henderson
SALT LAKE CITY (Dec. 22, 2020) — Community leaders from across the state who volunteered to help review government services have presented their recommendations to Gov.-elect Spencer Cox and Lt. Gov.-elect Deidre Henderson.
Just days after their election, Gov.-elect Cox and Lt. Gov.-elect Henderson assembled more than 100 individuals from business, academia, government, nonprofits and community groups and asked for their best thinking and assessments of 25 state departments and agencies.
For the past four weeks, these committees have spent countless hours studying their assigned state departments and offices and developing recommendations. Committee members presented their findings to Gov.-elect Cox and Lt. Gov.-elect Henderson during a series of virtual meetings last week. These recommendations are a starting point for discussion as the new administration considers its roadmap for the next four years..
“These teams have gone above and beyond in providing broad analysis and thoughtful recommendations,” Gov.-elect Cox said. “Lt. Gov.-elect Henderson and I are so impressed with the caliber of their work and we’re extremely grateful for the time and commitment they’ve shown to all residents of the state of Utah. We look forward to working with our new team and the departments to evaluate the proposals."
