- The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is expanding the Hope4Healers Helpline (919-226-2002) to serve North Carolina’s teachers, school personnel and their families. Read more.
- Due to concern for the health and safety of its customers and staff during the coronavirus outbreak, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will consolidate in-person services to offices large enough to maintain social distancing as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effective Wednesday, until further notice. - NCDHHS has upcoming community testing events in Gaston, Graham, Montgomery, Robeson, Scotland and Wake counties. For an up-to-date list of events, visit the Community Testing Events webpage. Events are listed under the name of their coordinating vendor, NCCHCA, Orig3n or Vidant Health. There is no cost for testing.

- NCDHHS is encouraging North Carolinians who are enrolled in the federal Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) to use their food benefits during COVID-19 to support good nutrition for their families. All WIC participants are getting monthly food benefits automatically added to their eWIC account because of the pandemic. Read more.
- Businesses and nonprofit organizations in North Carolina that have experienced interruption due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic could qualify for up to $250,000 from a new state grant program. The Department of Commerce is accepting applications for the Job Retention Grant Program (JRG) through the agency’s website. Read more.
- Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 156 extending, but not waiving, proof-of-immunization and health assessment documentation deadlines for school and child-care facilities. With health care visits limited in some cases due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the order will give students and families more time to get their required vaccines and health assessments completed.
