SUMMARY:
- As of today, Nevada has logged 295,460 cases, with the 14-day rolling average of daily cases being 263.
- Nevada has now completed a total of 2,754,332 molecular tests since the beginning of COVID-19.
- The test positivity rate over the last 14 days is 6.9%.
- The Nevada Hospital Association (NHA) reports Nevada is continuing to see a downward trajectory in hospitalizations.
- The NHA is also reporting there are currently 393 COVID-19 hospitalizations (335 confirmed; 58 suspected).
- According to the NHA, Nevada COVID-19 hospitalizations remain in decline and Nevada hospitals have a significant amount of intensive care space and ventilators available for immediate (all-cause) use.
- As of March 4, 742,605 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and reported to Nevada WebIZ.
- Today’s vaccination dashboard update includes Janssen doses administered.
- This vaccine requires only one dose and will be included with the dashboard totals for “reported as administered,” “reported as initiated” and “reported as completed.”
- Earlier this week the Division issued a Technical Bulletin updating the Vaccine Playbook guidance related to underlying health conditions.
- On March 1, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices released additional information on reaching and vaccinating those with underlying health conditions.
- From this information the Nevada State Immunization Program has provided recommendations related to screening for underlying health conditions, the use of clinical judgment related to rare conditions and support for counties as they prioritize the population of Nevadans with underlying health conditions while vaccine allocation continues to be limited.
- The document also outlines the underlying health conditions that the CDC has added that mean a person might be at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
- This guidance has been shared with health care providers, pharmacies and Nevada's Local Health Authorities.
- Nevadans with underlying health conditions are encouraged to talk with their medical provider about the COVID vaccine.
