- The NHA is also reporting there are currently 305 COVID-19 hospitalizations (241 confirmed; 64 suspected).
- The past few days have been some of the lowest number of COVID-19 hospitalizations we have seen since the Nevada Hospital Association started tracking this indicator almost a year ago.
- The COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force has scheduled a number of meetings this week in order to discuss the statewide transfer to local authority scheduled to occur on May 1.
- The Task Force will meet with county managers, emergency managers, public health officials and elected officials to have an initial conversation to gather information on specific county planning efforts, offer feedback and identify state resource needs.
- The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, Wednesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 18. Meetings will begin at 10 a.m. each day.
- The meetings can be found live on the NV Health Response YouTube channel.
- As of March 14, 958,994 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and reported to Nevada WebIZ.
- Counties continue to progress through the prioritization lanes, making more and more Nevadans eligible every week.
- Last week the federal government announced that additional health centers across the country were invited to participate in the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program to accelerate the delivery of vaccines to underserved communities and disproportionately affected populations.
- Invited health centers include those that serve low income and minority patients or provide services in rural and frontier communities.
- Several Nevada health centers have been invited to join this program and we look forward to more providers having the opportunity to provide vaccination in Nevada communities.
- Nevadans are encouraged to check out NVCOVIDFighter.org or call 1-800-401-0946 for the latest information on vaccine eligibility and appointment availability in their county.
