This bulletin provides facts, figures, and informational items from the call. As a reminder, data is provided in a dashboard on the home page of the Nevada Health Response website.
SUMMARY:
- As of today, Nevada has logged 311,750 cases, with the 14-day rolling average of daily cases being 269.
- Nevada has now completed a total of 3,120,860 molecular tests since the beginning of COVID-19.
- The test positivity rate over the last 14 days is 5.9%.
- Today, the Nevada Hospital Association is reporting there are currently 335 COVID-19 hospitalizations (294 confirmed; 41 suspected).
- The data are beginning to show some increase, although the Office of Analytics at DHHS noted that this is not unexpected or cause for alarm, as the state opens up.
- Nevadans have the tools and knowledge needed to combat the virus - we cannot let our guard down.
- Here are a few quick reminders of what we need to do as we open our state back up.
- Get tested: In recent weeks, Nevada has seen a decrease in the number of COVID-19 tests being conducted. It is still very important to get tested if you experience any symptoms or if you come in contact with someone that has or might have COVID-19.
- Wear a mask: Masks continue to be an important tool we have in combating the virus and Nevadans should continue to wear them when they are interacting with people from outside their households.
- The statewide mask mandate will remain in place as we transition to local authority.
- Get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best tool available to keep Nevadans safe, hospitals from getting full and the state and economy open.
- As of April 20, 1,726,411 COVID-19 vaccine doses (By Resident County) were administered and reported to Nevada WebIZ.
- 43% of the population 16 and older has initiated vaccination and 29% of the population 16 and older has completed vaccination.
- The Mobile Vaccination Units or MVUs continue to make their way across the state, vaccinating people in our rural and tribal communities.
- The MVU on the Northern route is in Battle Mountain and they will be there until 7 p.m. tonight. They will then move to Carlin to administer doses on April 23 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- On the Southern route, the team finished their day in Alamo yesterday and today are on route to Panaca, where they will be administering vaccinations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow.
- A reminder these are first come, first serve events and the MVUs are now stocked with the Pfizer vaccine, which is available to any Nevadan 16 and older.
- As always, Nevadans are encouraged to check out NVCOVIDFighter.org or call 1-800-401-0946 for the latest information on appointment availability in their county.
